Takes effect on October 13: US FCC tightens access rules for cross-border hardware products
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has published the final revised rule in the Federal Register, which will take effect on October 13, 2026. The new rule prohibits the issuance of FCC certification for devices containing "logic-bearing hardware components" manufactured by entities on the Covered List. It covers complete units, modules, subassemblies and integrated circuits. Even if the complete device is produced by a non-restricted entity, applications for a new FCC ID will be rejected as long as the device incorporates restricted components. Such devices will not be allowed for import customs clearance, offline sales or listing on major e-commerce platforms such as Amazon.

Amazon–TikTok Shop top-seller overlap: only ~5%
A Marketplace Pulse comparison found that only about one-fifth of the top 100 sellers on TikTok Shop US also ranked among Amazon’s top 10,000 sellers. Meanwhile, merely one twenty-fifth of Amazon’s top 100 sellers made it into TikTok Shop’s top 100. After matching the top 10,000 sellers on both platforms by business name, only 498 overlapped, accounting for roughly 5%, with no clear correlation between their rankings on the two sites. The report notes that TikTok excels at sparking purchase intent, while Amazon serves as the primary destination for consumers to complete purchases.
